OU football: Joe Mixon issues public apology for punching woman

NORMAN—Joe Mixon walked to the podium, looked up as cameras around the room clicked and recorded, then spoke.

For the first time since the July 2014 incident that left Amelia Molitor, a female OU student, with multiple broken bones to her face from a punch delivered by Mixon, the Oklahoma running back apologized in front of cameras.

“I'm just here to basically apologize to Miss Molitor,” Mixon said to begin his remarks. “I apologize to Coach (Bob) Stoops and I apologize to President (David) Boren, the AD (Athletic Director Joe Castiglione), my teammates, most of all my family.
