Jalen Hurts lost out on the Davey O'Brien Award to Joe Burrow.
The award goes to the best quarterback in college football and was announced at the top of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show. Ohio State's Justin Fields was also a finalist for the award.
Burrow and Hurts will face each other on the field on Dec. 28 when LSU and Oklahoma play in the College Football Playoff semifinal Peach Bowl.
The Oklahoma quarterback has thrown for 3,634 yards and 32 touchdowns this season, while adding 1,255 yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground this season.
