OU football: Jalen Hurts and Houston's D'Eriq King reverse roles in rematch

NORMAN — Jordan Carmouche was one of the spies.

Jalen Hurts was the target.

Carmouche and Manvel High School’s other linebackers took turns mirroring Hurts’ every movement. They weren’t going to let the Channelview quarterback get loose on that November 2015 night.

Now a linebacker for the University of Houston, Carmouche doesn’t remember much from the game except for Hurts’ strength and a gold shirt.

“And this is why I say he’s so strong,” said Carmouche, whose Cougars will face Hurts and the Oklahoma Sooners at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. “He had a long sleeve shirt on.
