NORMAN—Grant Calcaterra is stepping away from football.
More than a month after playing his last game with Oklahoma, Calcaterra announced on Twitter on Thursday night that concussions had ended his career.
“Dear Sooner Nation, my friends and family and everybody who’s had an impact on my career and my life: Over a month ago, I a received a concussion in practice,” Calcaterra said in a video posted on his Twitter account. “What most of you may not know is that I’ve had my fair share of concussions in my career. I’ve spent countless hours visiting with OU medical professionals and specialists around the country.
