NORMAN — OU opened its season with a 48-0 win over Missouri State on Saturday night at Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
It was what everyone expected to open the season against a Football Championship Division opponent. But this was far from business as usual.
Here are five takeaways from the victory:
1. Rattlesnake Bites
Don’t expect the hype around redshirt freshman quarterback Spencer Rattler to die down at all after his performance.
Rattler was 8 for 9 with 199 yards and three touchdowns in the first QUARTER as the Sooners built a 31-0 lead.
