NORMAN — Oklahoma offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley said that the three quarterbacks in the mix to be the starter for the Sooners — Baker Mayfield, Trevor Knight and Cody Thomas — were making it difficult on him and the rest of the coaching staff to decide on a starter.
The frontrunner in the spring appeared to be Texas Tech transfer Baker Mayfield, who ran the Air Raid both in high school at Lake Travis (Texas) and in his freshman season with the Red Raiders.
Mayfield suffered from some shoulder fatigue during the summer but has been fully cleared since the start of camp.
