One of the questions during the week was how Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield would handle his first big hit.
The answer came late in the first quarter when Oklahoma State’s Seth Jacobs squared up Mayfield on the quarterback’s 8-yard run on third and nine.
Mayfield bounced right back up, even jawing with Cowboys linebacker Jordan Burton after Burton bumped into Mayfield as he made his way back to the field from the Oklahoma State sideline.
Mayfield didn’t shy away from contact, laying a big block on Joe Mixon’s 66-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter.
