NORMAN — On the same day he missed out on Big 12 Player of the Year honors, Trae Young missed basketball practice.
While his teammates were on the floor at the Lloyd Noble Center practice gym preparing for Wednesday's Big 12 Tournament opener against Oklahoma State (8 p.m., ESPNU), Young lounged on a trainer's table in the corner.
“It's very tough,” Young said. “I'm very competitive. I never want to sit out anything.
“It's best for me and my body. I'll be better prepared for Wednesday too.”
Young injured his hip in Tuesday's loss at Baylor, falling to the floor after being fouled by the Bears' Jake Lindsey about 7:30 into the first half.
