OU baseball: Jason Ruffcorn comes up big to help Sooners sweep Kansas

NORMAN — Jason Ruffcorn needed to get some big outs.

It took him just one pitch to get the two biggest for Oklahoma on Sunday in the series finale against Kansas.

Ruffcorn got the job done, closing out the Jayhawks in the eighth inning and then working through a scoreless ninth to lift the Sooners to a 10-5 win at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

Oklahoma (21-4) swept the series to start 3-0 in Big 12 play.

When Ruffcorn, the Texas A&M transfer, came into the game, things were looking shaky for the Sooners.

Just an inning earlier, Oklahoma led 7-1 and looked to be cruising.
