OSU women's basketball: Rough start dooms Cowgirls in tournament loss

As the final seconds ticked off the clock in Friday’s 76-66 loss to Kansas, Oklahoma State’s bench players rose solemnly, accepting the unexpected end to their season.

Kansas lost its last 10 regular-season games and won only twice in conference play.

One of those 10 consecutive losses was a 20-point setback in Stillwater on Feb. 23.

In that game, the Cowgirls jumped out to a 23-8 lead after one quarter to cruise to a 72-52 win.

Friday night, Kansas turned the tables.

The Jayhawks scored 11 consecutive points to jump ahead 13-2 over the first six minutes, with OSU coming up empty on 11 consecutive possessions.
