It's safe to say Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer was SEC ready.
Mateer on Monday was named SEC Offensive Player of Week for Week 2 after his outstanding performance in the Sooners’ 24-13 win over Michigan on Saturday night in Norman. He was deemed the best player in the conference just two weeks in after an offseason full of questioning if Mateer could still succeed in the SEC after transferring from Washington State.
