Wednesday night, an armed, 21-year-old white man named Dylann Roof allegedly murdered nine black churchgoers in Charleston, South Carolina, simply because of color of their skin. While the country continues to mourn those lost as a result of the senseless act, Roof’s alleged motive has once again sparked a national discussion regarding race relations in our country.
