BetMGM recently released updated Heisman Trophy odds with new Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer holding put from his opening odds at +2500, which was the 14th-best listed. Those honestly aren't too bad of odds for a quarterback who just transferred to a new program into the SEC from Washington State.
What doesn't make sense, though, is that not only does Texas quarterback Arch Manning have much better odds than Mateer, but he has the best of any player in the country at +900. Manning has just two career starts under his belt against Louisiana Monroe and Mississippi State with nine total touchdowns.
