The Oklahoma Sooners gained and lost some talent for their 2026 recruiting class on Monday.
First, three-star linebacker Jakore Smith decommitted from the Sooners. However, it might foreshadow that the Sooners could soon gain another linebacker in three-star Dane Bathurst, who has been offered by and visited OU since decommitting from Duke earlier this month.
The Sooners' biggest news of the day came later, though. Four-star Jonathan Hatton Jr., a top-5 running back in the 2026 class, flipped his commitment back from Texas A&M to OU after originally being pledged to the Sooners.
