The Oklahoma Sooners typically never need to look far for motivation going into any given season, especially when they’re routinely labeled as ‘pretenders’ and ‘overrated’. But an even greater motivational tool can come in the form of a powerful message. It’s not uncommon for programs to bring in speakers to share their stories and provide a unique perspective that not only translates to football, but also to life.
This year, Oklahoma welcomed Navy SEAL and ‘Lone Survivor’ writer Marcus Luttrell. In his book, Luttrell explores his harrowing experience in Afghanistan during Operation Red Wing, an experience that would see all of his mission comrades pay the ultimate price.
