On Sunday evening, the departure of Oklahoma Sooners defensive tackle Du’Vonta Lampkin was reported by Carey Murdock of SoonerScoop.com, and that report was confirmed when Lampkin announced his intention to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft via Twitter on Monday afternoon.
The 6’4”, 335-pound DT played in 12 games for the Sooners in 2017, earning starts in two of those contests. Lampkin also recorded 23 total tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss and a sack. The Houston native also played in five games as a redshirt freshman after serving a suspension, recording five total tackles and two for loss.
