Oklahoma Sooners Football: Chip Viney hired as recruiting analyst

After weeks of rumblings, the Oklahoma Sooners finally made things official and announced the hire of Courtney “Chip” Viney as the program’s new recruiting analyst. Viney replaces Eric Striker, who is currently playing for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. The position entails being involved in all aspects of recruiting as well as playing a key role in player development.

Viney previously worked at Oklahoma as a defensive graduate assistant from 2013-2015 before being promoted special teams specialist in 2016. Following the 2016 season, Viney was hired by former OU co-OC Jay Norvell to be the cornerbacks coach at Nevada.
