The transfer portal has been working for and against the Sooners this week. On Monday the team announced that junior pitcher Mariah Lopez has entered her name into the NCAA transfer portal. She joins two OU teammates, pitcher Parker Conrad and outfielder Alexa Schultz, who have also elected to transfer.
At the same time, Gasso announced that former Auburn infielder Taylon Snow was transferring into the Sooner program.
Snow, who spent the first two seasons of her collegiate career playing shortstop at Auburn, is a likely replacement for either Sydney Romero at third base or Caleigh Clifton at second, both of whom finished their Sooner careers this past season.
