Oklahoma softball: No, 1 Sooners sweep Washington, secure spot in WCWS

The top-seeded Oklahoma softball team scored in every inning and eliminated Washington with a 9-1 run-rule victory in the Norman Super Regional on Saturday.

With the victory, the Sooners recorded their 50th win of the season with just two losses and are headed 15 minutes up the road to Oklahoma City and their 14th WCWS appearance and fifth in a row.

Leading 4-1 after three innings, Oklahoma scored three more times in the top half of the fourth on a pair of home runs by Jocelyn Alo and Kinzie Hansen off Washington All-American pitcher Gabbie Plain to break the game wide open and take a commanding 7-1 advantage in the best-of-three Super Regional.
