Perhaps no player on Oklahoma's roster was more disappointing in 2016-17 than forward Christian James. Instead of taking the next step after contributing to OU's final four run in 2015-16, James was often a non-factor on a team that struggled to generate offense.
But James appears to have his confidence back at the level it was during OU's tournament run. In the Sooners' last two preseason games, James is a perfect 8-for-8 from 3-pt range. He averaged just 7.9 points per game last season and shot 34 percent from distance.
James should have more open space to operate this season with the addition of 5-star point guard Trae Young.
