MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Zack Sanchez sat at his locker Thursday evening in the bowels of Sun Life Stadium, head in his hands and crying between politely waving off reporters who wanted to interview him.
Oklahoma had just lost 37-17 to Clemson in the Orange Bowl, and Sanchez knew what questions were coming.
He just wasn't ready to talk about it yet.
Sanchez announced Friday morning that he would forgo his final season of collegiate eligibility and enter the 2016 NFL Draft. But in an telephone interview with The Oklahoman later that day, he said the decision had been made two weeks earlier.
