The Sooners scored the first 14 points of the game on a 48-yard pass from Jalen Hurts to CeeDee Lamb and an 8-yard Hurts keeper before the Cyclones got on the board with a 40-yard touchdown run from Tarique Milton.
Hurts found Trejan Bridges for a 7-yard score and Lamb shredded the Iowa State defense for a 63-yard score to make it 28-7.
After Iowa State cut the lead to 14 with a Dylan Soehner 23-yard touchdown pass from Brock Purdy, Hurts scored on 2-yard plunge to make it 35-14 at halftime.
