Oklahoma Football: Sooners pull away late to defeat SMU, 28-11

On a beautiful night in Norman, the Oklahoma Sooners found a way to move to 2-0 on the year. With Memorial Stadium rocking and striped for the game, the offense came out flat and it remained that way for much of the night.

After their slow start, the Sooners got a spark from the special teams with a blocked punt in the first quarter to set them up with great field position. They would quickly capitalize on that with a quick 29-yard touchdown pass from Dillon Gabriel to Andrel Anthony. SMU would respond on the next drive with a field goal to make the score 7-3 halfway through the first quarter.
