The Sooners continue to look up at Clemson, Alabama, Georgia and LSU in the eyes of the media representatives who make up the voting panel in the AP Poll, and the same three, minus LSU, in the weekly Coaches Poll.

The same cannot be said, however, for several teams at the back end of the rankings. Michigan State, Maryland and USC — ranked 18th, 21st and 24th a week ago in the AP Poll — all lost over the weekend and dropped out of both polls.
