Oklahoma football: Sooners average 9.5 yards per play in pummeling UCLA

For a third consecutive week, the Oklahoma offense sizzled, rolling up over 300 yards both on the ground and through the air and totaling more than 600 yards of total offense. Hurts accounted for 439 of that total, including a 30-yard touchdown run just over three minutes into the game for the Sooners’ opening score.

With the 48-14 win over winless UCLA, now 0-3 on the season, Oklahoma extended its nation-best consecutive win streak in true road games to 21 (the next longest is 10 by the University of Central Florida). The Sooners are now just four wins shy of matching the all-time OU record of 25, set by Bud Wilkinson’s teams between 1953 and 1958 during the record 47-game winning streak.
