Redshirt senior linebacker Curtis Bolton was one of the Sooner defensive standouts over the weekend, and on Monday he was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.
The Sooner defensive showed up in spades on Saturday, shutting down a very good Florida Atlantic offense and contributing mightily in the Sooners 63-14 smackdown of the visiting Owls from Conference USA.
Bolton earned his first career start on Saturday, and he made his presence known early, covering up a blocked punt in the end zone for Oklahoma’s second touchdown early in the first quarter.
