Referee Mike Defee, famous for his admonishing of the OU and Texas teams before their game in October, complete with team-wide unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, called the OU-Baylor game Saturday.
And Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby said both Lincoln Riley and Matt Rhule were pleased with Defee being assigned to the Big 12 Championship Game.
“I will tell you both of these coaches look at Mike Defee and his crew and say, ‘we’ll be just fine,’” Bowlsby said. “You show up and have him and his crew on the game, you’re going to get a well-officiated football game.
