The much maligned Oklahoma football defense showed marked signs of improvement as the Sooner offense steamrolled a very good TCU defense on the road.
After the firing of Mike Stoops and the promotion of Ruffin McNeill to interim defensive coordinator, the main question in the collective mind of the Sooner Nation was how much improvement the defense would show. The fact that this turmoil occurred during a bye week surely helped the Oklahoma defensive staff better prepare for what was expected to be a tough road game in Fort Worth.
