Oklahoma football: Bill Bedenbaugh a Broyles Award semifinalist

Sooner co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh on Tuesday was named one of 15 semifinalists for the 2018 Broyles Award, which recognizes the top assistant coach in college football.

Bedenbaugh is in his sixth season as an assistant at Oklahoma. He was also a semifinalist for the Broyles Award in 2017. For the past two seasons, the Sooners have fielded one of college football best offensive lines, which is a prime reason Oklahoma has led the nation in offense the last two seasons.

The Sooners have averaged 8.8 yards per offensive play this season.
