OU hosts South Dakota on Saturday night, and the Coyotes are not a household name in college football. Before kickoff, here’s a primer on South Dakota football:
Coach: Bob Nielson. In his fourth year at South Dakota, with a record of 16-20 and one Division I-AA playoff victory. Nielson is 202-100-1 as a head coach, with stops at Ripon College (1989-90), Wartburg College (1991-95), Wisconsin-Eau Claire (1996-98), Minnesota-Duluth (1999-03, 2008-12) and Western Illinois (2013-15). Nielson coach Minnesota-Duluth to Division II national titles in 2008 and 2010.
Conference: The Missouri Valley Football Conference, not to be confused with the traditional Missouri Valley.
