There's nothing worse than losing, except for losing to Texas.
The No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners lost to unranked Texas 23-6 on Saturday at Cotton Bowl Stadium in what was an overall disappointment by the Sooners as OU head coach Brent Venables dropped to 1-3 against the Longhorns with his team failing to score a touchdown in all three losses.
The day started with what seemed like a win when it was confirmed OU quarterback John Mateer would make a miraculous recovery from surgery on his throwing hand just 17 days before and play against Texas. Mateer then cruised the Sooners down for a field goal in the opening drive, but after that, it was just a day of sorrow for Sooner Nation.
