Oklahoma basketball: Buddy Hield repeats as Big 12 Player of the Year

The award season has begun for Oklahoma's Buddy Hield.

Hield repeated as the Big 12's Player of the Year on Sunday, earning the selection from the league's coaches.

Hield is the first repeat winner of the award since Kansas' Raef LaFrentz earned the honors in the first two seasons of the Big 12 in 1997-98.

The senior from the Bahamas earned the award by averaging 25.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists this season.

Hield's signature moment came in a loss, when he scored 46 in a 109-106 triple-overtime loss at Kansas on Jan.
