The Miami Dolphins selected former Oklahoma defensive tackle Jordan Phillips with the 52nd pick in the second round Friday night.
The 6-foot-5, 327-pound nose tackle started all 13 games last season for the Sooners, recording 32 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks, one fumble recovery and a pass breakup.
The Towanda, Kan., native signed with the Sooners out of Circle High School in the recruiting class of 2011. He redshirted as a true freshman, then played only sparingly as a redshirt freshman in 2012.
The next year, though, after the Sooners transitioned to a 3-4 base defensive system, Phillips shined through the first four games of the season.
