Houston upends OU in women’s opener
Britney Onyeje scored a team-high 23 points to lead Houston to a 97-85 win over Oklahoma in a women’s basketball season opener on Wednesday in Norman. Madi Williams had a game-best 25 points for OU. Mandy Simpson added 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Sooners, who next play Saturday in the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
OU’s first-two games postponed due to COVID
Oklahoma’s basketball season opener against UTSA on Wednesday, as well as the away game versus UCF on Saturday, have been postponed due to positive tests, Stadium’s Jeff Goodman first reported on Tuesday.
