In his 2017 NFL Mock Draft 6.0 Sports Illustrated's Chris Burke projected that two former Oklahoma players would be taken in the third round.
In Burke's mock draft, OU running back Joe Mixon would be taken by the Indianapolis Colts with the 79th pick. Mixon was not invited to the NFL Combine. After declaring for the draft in January, Mixon told ESPN that he had received a first-round draft grade, but his agent later clarified that he had never been reviewed by the NFL Draft Advisory Board. Instead, Mixon believed he was a first-round talent based on information various teams told his agent.
