Landry Jones reunites with Bob Stoops in Dallas and Taylor Cornelius heads to Tampa Bay in XFL Draft

A pair of former Bedlam quarterbacks were among the first players to find a home in the XFL during Tuesday’s quarterback assignments and subsequent first day of the new league’s draft.

First, former Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones was assigned to the Dallas Renegades, whose coach and general manager is Bob Stoops.

Jones was the first player signed by the league.

In four years at Oklahoma, he threw for 16,646 yards and 123 touchdowns. He still holds Sooners records for career passing yards, touchdown passes, 300-yard games (27) and 400-yard games (12) among others.

Jones spent five years as the Pittsburgh Steelers' backup quarterback, starting five games from 2013-17, throwing for 1,310 yards and eight touchdowns.
