Oklahoma’s catcher had just delivered a two-out single to left that seemed destined to win the game.
But Mitchell peeked back and saw Tredaway slip a bit rounding third.
Tredaway recovered quickly and the throw from left-field bounced off Oklahoma State catcher Bryce Carter’s shinguard and bounded high in the air as Tredaway slid home safely to give the Sooners a wild 3-2 Bedlam win Saturday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
“You grow up wanting to be in that moment,” Mitchell said. “Whenever you’re in it you just try to take everything in and do the best you can to help your team win.
