Texas took a 10-7 lead into the second quarter, the first time the Sooners had been outscored in the opening 15 minutes all season. Oklahoma scored first, going 56 yards on 6 plays to take a 7-0 lead, but the Longhorns matched that with a touchdown of their own to erase OU’s only lead in the game.

Once the Longhorns went up 10-7 with a field goal at the six-minute mark in the second quarter, Oklahoma fought an uphill battle for the next 33 minutes. A 21-point fourth quarter performance brought OU all the way back to a 45-all deadlock, but that was as close as the Sooners would come.
