2001 Nate Hybl over Jason White: Hybl was announced on Aug. 16, nine days before the season opener. Hybl played reasonably well but was injured against Texas. White came on and finished off an OU victory. Hybl returned the next week against Kansas but again was banged up, and White took over the job.
