DALLAS — The Red River Showdown often brought out the best in Austin Seibert.
During his Oklahoma career, Seibert was 9 of 10 on field goals against the Longhorns. He also averaged 42.2 yards per punt.
For the first time since 2014, Seibert will take this year’s game in as a fan.
“Because all the (smack) that they talk gets really annoying so it’s always like you’re playing for more than just a regular game,” Seibert told The Oklahoman this week. “It’s like it just gets fueled.”
Seibert is now the Cleveland Browns kicker. He and Baker Mayfield have one ex-Longhorns teammate, Malik Jefferson.
