For a half century, only NEO has played junior college football in Oklahoma

Northeastern A&M Junior College first fielded a football team in 1920, so this marks the 100th year of Norse football. But for half a century, NEO has been the only Oklahoma junior college playing football. Here are the Oklahoma jucos and the last year they fielded a team:

1967: Cameron, Lawton (converted to a four-year school in 1968)

1967: Oklahoma Military Academy, Claremore (institution closed in 1971, eventually became Rogers State University)

1966: Eastern, Wilburton

1966: Connors, Warner

1966: Murray, Tishomingo

1966: Northern, Tonkawa

1956: Bacone, Muskogee (became a four-year school in the 1980s)

1953: Carl Albert, Poteau (then known as Poteau Junior College)

1935: Western, Altus (then known as Altus Junior College)

1932: Bristow, Bristow (defunct)

1932: Chillocco Indian School, Newkirk (defunct)

1930: Cordell Christian College (defunct)
