Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer proved Saturday against South Carolina that there is nothing he can't do on a football field.
Mateer, already known for his dual-threat ability as a quarterback, showed off a new skill later in the fourth quarter of the No. 14 Sooners' 26-7 win over South Carolina. In his final play of the game before coming out, Mateer booted a surprise 40-yard punt that was placed perfectly for freshman Elijah Thomas to down on South Carolina's goal line.
The play ultimately resulted in a safety one play later when OU defensive lineman Markus Strong tackled Matt Fuller in the end zone.
