STILLWATER — Winning big tournaments at Karsten Creek Golf Club is nothing new to Austin Eckroat.
A freshman on the Oklahoma State golf team, Eckroat is one of a miniscule number of golfers who play Karsten Creek with deep knowledge of the oasis hidden about five miles west of Stillwater. A former Edmond North standout, Eckroat won an individual 6A title and two team titles walking the pristine fairways his prep career.
The competition and stakes are a bit different this week.
Eckroat and his Cowboy teammates are swinging to defend their home course in search of OSU's first golf championship since 2006.
