Oklahoma needed one last bit of help and got it from the team that they’ll ultimately face in the playoff. LSU’s 37-10 win over Georgia in the SEC Championship Game — coupled with Oregon’s victory of Utah in the Pac 12 title game the night before — paved the way for the Sooners to jump two spots to No. 4.
The Sooners are in the playoffs for the third consecutive season and the fourth time in five seasons.
