College football expert predicts CFP heartbreak for Oklahoma fans

If On3's Andy Staples is correct, then Selection Sunday for the College Football Playoff is going to be a heartbreaking day for Sooner Nation.

After a chaotic Week 8 that included nine Associated Press Top 25 teams losing, Staples released his updated 12-team field projection for the CFP and had the Oklahoma Sooners as one of his first four teams out.

Andy Staples projects Sooners to just miss College Football Playoff

According to Staples, OU, Notre Dame, Missouri and Texas will just miss the cut of getting into the CFP. The Sooners just lost to Texas 23-6 two weeks ago, but the Longhorns already have two losses to Ohio State and Florida, so after a poor showing against Kentucky last week, Staples still doesn't believe Texas will get in despite the Red River Rivalry win and easier schedule ahead.
