The Red River Rivalry game is Saturday. It's a classic, and as being such, we figured the only way to ring in rivalry week was by talking to legendary Sooners head coach Barry Switzer.
In his nearly two decades on Oklahoma's staff, Switzer coached in his fair share of Cotton Bowl classics. Remember the ties in 1976 and 1984? So does he — those games still nag at him almost 20 years after he retired.
The always quotable former head coach went 9-5-2 against Texas, but now he's off the sideline, and instead acts as a color commentator for OU games from the Coaches Cabana in Campus Corner.
