Bob Stoops has gone from Sooner to Renegade.
Nicknames for the eight XFL teams were revealed Wednesday morning, and Stoops' XFL Dallas franchise was introduced as the Renegades. The team colors appear to be light blue, black and red.
The nickname was announced in a 45-second video on Twitter.
Stoops was introduced as the XFL Dallas coach in February. He retired from Oklahoma in June 2017 after 18 seasons on the Sooner sidelines. His 190 career victories are the most in program history.
The XFL will kick off in February 2020. The Dallas Renegades will play at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas.
