The college basketball coach carousel can be difficult to monitor. All kinds of moves are made that fall under the radar. Like these two: both Bob Hoffman and Corey Williams are out of a job.
Hoffman was fired as the head coach at Mercer, and Williams was fired as the head coach at Stetson.
Hoffman’s firing was a surprise to us who thought he was a made man in Macon, Georgia. In the 2014 NCAA Tournament, Hoffman’s 14th-seeded Mercer team upset third-seeded Duke 78-71 in Raleigh, North Carolina, some 25 miles from the Duke campus.
