With two fields in use at the Big 12 softball championship on Friday, the Texas-Iowa State game was briefly delayed in the first inning when gusting south winds blew down a portion of the outfield fence.
At first, Texas players tried to push it back up, but it blew over again. Big 12 officials held the fence up until USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium workers were able to hammer new stakes into the fence and add additional supports on Integris Field.
Only two games were played on the field, which was being used as the secondary site for games, in addition to the stadium site of OGE Energy Field.
