Big 12 baseball: OU's Sheldon Neuse is The Oklahoman's Big 12 Player of the Year

NORMAN — Sheldon Neuse has been among the best baseball players in the Big 12 since he arrived at Oklahoma for the 2014 season.

This season, though, Neuse was the best player in the conference.

After a season where he was second in the league in hitting and led in both slugging percentage and total bases, the Sooners' shortstop is The Oklahoman's Big 12 Player of the Year.

Neuse missed the final two games of Oklahoma's regular-season-ending series at Austin Peay after hitting his head on the ground late in the series opener.
